What changed and why

Today's Home is a slogan, a 3×3 wall of categories and two shop tiles; the send flow starts two screens later. This Home starts the send itself and keeps everything else.

Who first, what second, pay third. Returning and new-user states; English and Arabic (RTL), switched in the State card above the mock. Review copy, 15 October 2026. Wording and visuals are drafts for Nawaf's approval. Not for publishing.

Who first. The midnight slogan card ("Send someone something.") becomes Who is it for?: a name-or-number field, recent people, Contacts and a Community Partner in the same row. Today the first tap opens a list; here it answers the first question.
Step 2 is above the fold. The occasion card and the stepper are gone from the top; the birthday is one slim cream row inside the card. "What to send" starts at about 495 px of the 792 px visible and its priced cards end at about 750 px, so a returning user sees Sara, a priced latte and the gold button on one screen. Returning path: Sara, Hot Latte, Pay. Three taps, measured.
The gold button goes somewhere. "Send a gift" / "Choose a gift for Sara" opens the Gift flow with the recipient carried in (the sheet shows Cortado and Midway, voucher and items, with a "For Sara" pill). Category tiles and shop tiles open the same flow filtered, so Sara travels with every path, not only the four quick sends.
Pay never fails at the commit. With nobody chosen the gold button reads "Who is it for?" and jumps to the For row's mini picker; the label becomes "Pay BHD 1.500" only once a person or charity is set. A voucher asks its amount in the sheet. Pool on: a "Your share" row appears and the button says "Pay BHD 2.000 and invite friends", so the sender's own contribution is asked before paying.
Received gifts become a redeem instrument. One midnight card per gift: BHD 7.500 left in 30 px, a thin gold bar, "Spent BHD 2.500 of BHD 10.000", and Show code opens the QR plus a typed code in one tap. Midnight is used here only, so the page has one dark moment, not three card languages in the first viewport. Hidden entirely for a new user.
Browse is not demoted. All nine categories are visible at once (3 × 3, 64 px tiles instead of 110 px, about 210 px instead of 340), and the two featured places keep their photos: the real Cortado storefront, not a grey block, with a deep link under each ("Gift a latte · from BHD 0.500", "Send a voucher · any amount") that enters the flow with the item preselected.
A new-user state exists. Switch to New user: no saved people (a hint line, Contacts and Charity remain), no birthday row, no wallet, and a three-step "How ihdaa works" strip after the quick sends, which become "Popular in Bahrain right now". First-timer path: Hot Latte, then name or number in the sheet, then Pay.
Legible at phone size. Nothing below 12 px; muted grey is used for no text at all (every small line is navy on white, 9.9:1). Avatars share one tint; the chosen person gets a navy ring and check at the top-end, a birthday a gold ring and cake at the bottom-start, so badges never collide. Charity's heart is navy, not the error red. Quick-send cards have fixed heights, so prices line up.
One gold per view, one card language. Gold is the next step only (Send a gift; Pay). Content cards are white with a 1 px border and 20 px radius; the hero card has the one shadow; images are 22 px tiles; the wallet card is the one midnight surface. Sheets have role=dialog, move focus, close on Escape and make the page inert behind them.

RTL. Only logical properties (padding-inline, inset-inline-end, border-start-start-radius, text-align:start), so dir="rtl" mirrors the layout: rows start from the right, arrows and chevrons flip, the switch knob and the bar fill reverse. Every amount, code and the +973 hint sits in an isolated LTR span so digits never reorder. Arabic letters render in IBM Plex Sans Arabic (Outfit and Montserrat have none; digits stay in Outfit), and the Arabic wordmark from assets/images replaces the Latin one. Press العربية · RTL to see it with Arabic strings.

Needs Nawaf's approval before any of it ships: every string here is a draft, including the announcement, "Who is it for?", "What to send", "Your gifts to enjoy", the three "How ihdaa works" lines, the pool copy and all Arabic translations; the Arabic typeface; whether quick sends are curated by ihdaa or the customer's favourites; saving birthdays (a product decision); and the currency form in Arabic (BHD 1.500 or د.ب 1.500, or BHD kept in both languages).

Try it: tap Sara, then Hot Latte, then Pay. Or tap Hot Latte first and see what the button asks. Tap Show code on the Cortado card. Tap Coffee after choosing Sara.

Photos are crops of today's shop screens (Cortado storefront, Hot Latte, Cappuccino); in the app they are the shop and product images. Voucher and Midway art are drawn in brand colours only. No customer data.
